I do want to do a full post on my experience with training & running the Route 66 Half Marathon in Tulsa--but first the instagram journey! In the beginning, I started tagging all my training photos with the hash tag #thehalfmarathonproject thinking it would helpful for a number of reasons. It would allow me to track and record my progress through the weeks, keep me accountable to my goal of doing the half marathon, and simply shared my experience with others [and thus connecting with so many others going through the same process!].
So in photos, here's my journey from finish line to day 1 of training!
with my man & medal ♥ // finisher photo!! -- it was brutally cold, but such an incredibly amazing experience!!
waiting at the starting line--brrr! // after weeks of training, everything is ready & set to run
last run before the half // night run with Ossie // ran 13.1!!
yum yum // feeling strong!! began the day with hill sprints & ended with weight lifting after work!!
couples who lift together, stay together #swolemates // time to sweat!!
frosty morning start // new nike threads // my running buddy
first outside run // day 1 of training
